PR4 SNT Seteais - Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais
Rede de Percursos nas Áreas Protegidas
This path starts next to the National Palace of Sintra, goes through the historic center, passing through the Seteais Palace. It has as interesting places the clock tower (Torre do Relógio), the São Martinho church, the Quinta da Regaleira, the Seteais palace, the Pena ramp and the Pipa fountain. Although not very extensive, it has a steep slope. Along the way see the vegetation and the birds flying by. It takes place in a territory classified as a nature park and included in the Sintra-Cascais Site (Natura 2000 Network). Here a fabulous set of monuments from different eras – there are signs of human occupation since Neolithic period - and one of the best European sets of tree flora from all over the world – can be seen here in perfect harmony, the reason why, in 1995, the most part of northern slopes of Sintra’s hill was classified by UNESCO as World Heritage (Cultural Landscape category).
