The Portal uses a mechanism called ‘cookies’, being small text files saved on users’ computers allowing the Turismo de Portugal, I.P. to identify all computers accessing the Portal and which contents are interesting to the respective users.
Cookies do not save any information regarding user identification.
Although The Turismo de Portugal, I.P. does not provide any unidentified individual information to third parties, the Portal saves aggregated statistic information about its visitors’ preferences and may provide it to official entities of the tourism industry.
Cookies allow the Portal to recognize computer users in a subsequent visit, making this new visit a continuation of prior visits.
If users register and use their login for identification, the Portal will retrieve all information gathered on said user, even if said information was gathered in a different computer.
The use of cookies in your computer can be turned off. For some operating systems and/or browsers, it can only be turned off for some sites. Please check your computer manual for more information on how to carry out this operation.
If you turn off cookies, the Portal will treat you like a new user whenever you access it and will not save any information between visits.
At the same time, not using cookies may imply the inoperability of certain Portal features.
