This stage extends 17.5 km between Soajo and Lindoso, crossing the Lima River, which marks the passage from the Soajo mountain range to the Serra Amarela range. This stage is particularly long, but it is possible to spread it over more than one day as it passes through several places where there are accommodation services, restaurants, amongst other facilities.
Throughout this stage one is reminded of the history of hydroelectric power production in Portugal and how the construction of dams has profoundly marked the Lima valley. After passing across the valley, the route once more heads towards mountain paths, where the landscape recovers its rural character and the natural elements are once more dominant. The mountain villages follow one after another with their patchworks of woodland and farmed fields with beyond, glimpses of the huge expanse of water forming the Alto Lindoso Reservoir. The walk ends in Lindoso, where awaits the historical assemblage comprising the medieval castle, stone cross, communal threshing floor and group of 67 granaries.
