Fradelos (Albergaria-a-Velha) » Sever do Vouga (centro)
Grande Rota da Ria de Aveiro - Percurso Dourado / Walking
This stage is particularly suitable for cycling, heading from Fradelos towards the mountains of Sever do Vouga. It coincides with Etapa 3 | Albergaria-a-Velha » Sever do Vouga, of GR59, in Ribeira de Fráguas. On the initial section, always on municipal roads, you will cross some villages and pass over the course of the Caima River before reaching Ribeira de Fráguas, a land with a very peculiar agricultural landscape that extends south to Busturenga, with its fields of corn and vegetables arranged in a seemingly geometric style. It continues east, along mountain roads through eucalyptus production forests, until reaching Silva Escura. In the vicinity of this village, hides one of the most fascinating secrets of the stage, Parque da Cascata da Cabreia (Cabreia Waterfall Park), where Rio Mau (Mau River) flows and where you can also do the PR2 SVV - Cabreia and Minas do Braçal. Now heading south, you will find the hidden village of Folharido and, shortly after, the ruins of the old facilities of Minas do Braçal, in a place full of small details and secrets. On the final section, again towards east, you cross some villages before culminating in the centre of Sever do Vouga.
