The stage between Carregal and Parque da Saldida coincides in almost all its extension with Stage 3 | Cais do Carregal (Ovar) » Cais da Béstida (Murtosa), of GR57. A stretch marked by the landscape diversity and the decorative exuberance of Ovar, the "City Museum of the Tile". Ironically, contrary to what can be expected, the tiles that brighten up with colors and patterns the facades of the buildings and streets of the city, were not produced here, but more to the north, in the great ceramics factories of Vila Nova de Gaia, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries. The tile fashion appeared here influenced by emigrants from Ovar in Brazil and, in addition to embellishing the façades of the houses, it had the determinant function of waterproofing the buildings facing the constant Atlantic humidity. The stage heads south, first crossing a forest path, with a bicycle path available up to the passage of the Gonde River, and then along the Ria de Aveiro banks, from its branches and piers. In the section that borders the Ria near the center of Bunheiro, small detours are worth to visit the Custódio Prato House-Museum, the Chapel of São Gonçalo, the Chapel of São Simão and finally the Chapel of São Silvestre. After the Mancão River, the route enters an urban area, in the middle of the town of Murtosa. The COMUR-Museu Municipal, which celebrates the eel canning industry in escabeche sauce, unique in the entire Iberian Peninsula, is a mandatory visit point, before arriving at the Saldida Park, a green heart that unites the centralities of Pardelhas, Murtosa Velha and Monte.
