The descent to the lagoon (former Seixo dam) begins always by the ridge line and crossing a forest area. Once in the lagoon, you go around the right bank and follow the valley of the Seixo stream to the village of Ribeira, then to Real. The landscape is mostly agricultural and small forest spots are also crossed. After passing through the villages of Friamil, Castanheira and Crasto, you enter again in a forest area, steeper. It continues to the valley of the Paiva river in a path overlooking the river, which accompanies it for about 4 kilometers. The trail departs again from the Paiva river, crossing the villages of Vilar and Carreiros, finally arriving at Castelo de Paiva.
