A route more aimed at birdwatching, given the extraordinary wealth of birdlife in the area. In the first zone we find the dry farming, a somewhat dense area of holm oaks and some traditional olive groves. It is the preferred area for the steppe species and an observatory is also located here, making it possible to watch the Little Bustard, Montague’s Harrier and the Kestrel. As it is in the area beside the Caia River, it dominates the culture in irrigation, and the intensive olive groves and we can watch the Calandra-lark. Then, next to the Nova Alfarófia Dam we can see the cayman, the Water Rail, the Collared Pratincole, the white stork and the heron.
