From Senhora da Peneda the route heads south, using the old track that connects to Soajo, following the Peneda river and the River Adrão. The stage enjoys an impressive landscape, the small groups of dwellings and brandas standing out on the valley floor, surrounded by terraced agricultural areas in a patchwork of woodlands. Also noteworthy are the streams of crystalline water and their riparian margins, a scene that contrasts sharply with the granite and sheer slopes of the Peneda and Soajo mountain system. For those who like photography, there is no shortage of good scenery and pleasant spots to take a break.
