This stage leads from Sirvozelo to Outeiro, two villages that share a view over the Paradela reservoir. It is 11 kilometres long and follows for most of the way along country tracks and passing through the villages of Loivos, Fiães do Rio and Paredes do Rio. The highlight of the route is the diversity of landscapes encountered with each section having some of the most beautiful rural scenery and cultural heritage to be found in the Barroso and Alto Cavado region. Outstanding is the huge expanse of the waters of Paradela reservoir, surrounded by water meadows and oak copses on lower slopes, set against the backdrop of the Serra do Gerês. The patchwork of fields and woods surrounding the settlements also stand out. The old centres of villages are quite well preserved, with many buildings retaining their original form together with elements of communal heritage, such as the threshing floors, fountains, washing tanks and drinking troughs.
