The walk on this stage goes from Brufe to Campo do Gerês and has as its main features the valley of the Rio Homem and the expanse of water that forms the Vilarinho das Furnas reservoir. The route covers about 11 kilometres and involves the passage from the Serra Amarela to Gerês mountain range, separated by the Rio Homem.
Walking in a southerly direction from Brufe, the route follows an old stone-paved track that connects the village to the fields and woods below as well as to the river. The way is steep is it follows down the precipitous valley-side of the Rio Homem. Reaching a granite pavement, the way then becomes narrower and eventually leads to the dirt road that provides access to the medieval Quintão bridge which spans the Rio Homem, after which the route climbs up to the village of Quintão. As soon as the first cluster of houses belonging to the village of Quintão appear the route turns left, passing through a woodland area until joining the paved road that leads up to Senhor do Bom Jesus das Mós. The route continues along the road until reaching a sign off to the left indicating the way to Campo do Gerês, this being along a wonderful footpath which reveals once more the Rio Homem valley and the beautiful extent of the waters of the Vilarinho das Furnas reservoir. Alongside the Interpretation and Information Centre for Vilarinho da Furna the route turns right to take a short cut into the village of Campo do Gerês, ending at the Porta do Campo do Gerês Visitor Centre.
