The numerous fountains in Castelo de Vide and its surroundings show the richness of village’s water resources. The route is developed by the village spaces, where the most monumental and artistic fountains are found. Follow the peri-urban zone along the Ribeira de São João stream. In this section we notice that the fountains were local, that were for human use, to give water to the cattle, water the gardens and also to wash the clothes. The route passes over a section of medieval paving. Already in the village, we go from fountain to fountain through the area of the old Jewish quarter that culminates in the Village Fountain (Fonte da Vila).
