Beginning the route, we come across the Necropolis of Good Death (Necrópole da Boa Morte), which indicates that the territory is rich in archaeological sites. Upon entering the dam wall we turn off and visit a hydraulic mill and a Chafurdão (cottage-type building). After the wall, near the road, we can find a well preserved anthropomorphic grave. We stand by the riverbank looking up to an observatory. We then cross an area of Carvalhal where the granite appears in outcrops. The last part ends in a second observatory, where we relish the chance to say farewell to the dam and its birdlife.
