Grande Rota da Ria de Aveiro - Percurso Verde / Walking
This is the longest stage of GR59, with about 27km, so it is especially dedicated to cyclo-tourism. Before leaving Águeda, heading southeast, take the opportunity to explore the beautiful streets of the city and some of its points of interest. Soon after crossing the bridge over the Águeda river, it passes over a small canal, through a wooden bridge, with beautiful views of the river and its riparian corridor. In the sports area of the city, next to the Municipal Stadium and the Tennis Club, you will find the impressive Borralha Palace, a noble neoclassical house of rectangular plan, with revivalist decorative elements and a large garden of century-old species and structures that reinforce the romantic nature of the complex. As you move away from the urban center of the city, the forests appear and, after passing the Águeda Aerodrome, you can turn left to visit the Redonda River Park, bathed by the Águeda River. From village to village you arrive at Ferreirinhos, where the route becomes a descent. In the surroundings of Póvoa do Gago, a beautiful mountain village, you can turn left to visit the Gralheira Dam Park before heading west towards Anadia.
