Pessegueiro do Vouga (Sever do Vouga) » Lourizela (Águeda)
Grande Rota da Ria de Aveiro - Percurso Verde / Walking
This is the highest point of all the 3 Great Routes of Ria de Aveiro, 521m above sea level, in the village of Silveira, parish of Talhadas. Especially indicated for bicycle touring, this stage initially explores the small villages to the southeast of the old railway station of Paradela, where is marked the zero kilometer of the Sever do Vouga eco-track. After passing through Penouços, you can make a small detour to the right to visit the Levada de Carrazedo, in an area of beautiful riverside scenery, embellished by a monumental stone bridge that the route will cross. Always by quiet roads, surrounded by a forest cover dominated by eucalyptus, you can continue southeast towards Talhadas, where, after visiting the Main Church, you can make a short detour to visit the unique Megalithic Monument of Chão Redondo. The stage then passes through the village of Vilarinho and, in Cortez, crosses the bed of the Alfusqueiro River, in Parque do Cortez, on a riverside area that invites bathing on hot days, culminating shortly afterwards in Lourizela (Águeda).
