Esteiro de Salreu (Estarreja) » Cais da Béstida (Murtosa)

Grande Rota da Ria de Aveiro - Percurso Azul / Walking

BioRia was created in 2005, the first nature conservation and biodiversity project in the Ria de Aveiro. A pioneer project, created to add value to the Ria and reconnect the people of the municipality of Estarreja with its natural and landscape heritage while opening up horizons to new practices in nature tourism. In Salreu, at the Environmental Interpretation Centre and entrance to the extensive Network of Pedestrian and Cycling Paths of BioRia, it is possible to obtain binoculars for bird watching, rent bicycles, kayaks or even take a guided visit by an electric car. The stage that starts here, heading west, follows the course of the Antuã River up to the Esteiro de Estarreja, coinciding there with the course of the Veiros Rivers to the Ribeira Nova Pier. The extensive walkway takes us to the splendor of the open river, bordering the Murtosa channel, passing through the Cambeia, Chegado and Bico docks, with its large anchorage complex, where is possible to admire the traditional moliceiros, ex-libris of the Ria that have in Murtosa their origin. In the Pardelhas River, we find the Environmental Education Center, one of the points where bicycles of the project "Murtosa Ciclável" are available. The Sobeira Cape marks the meeting of the Murtosa channel with the Ovar channel. From there, to Béstida, we go through Ameirinhos and Mamaparda, one of the best European spots for the practice of kitesurfing.
