The aim is to explore the mountain island, taking in the coastal areas where there is a good deal of cultural heritage linked to whaling and the cultivation of vines, as well as inland areas where the rich natural heritage stands out, especially the imposing mountain. It carries on along the road and has the largest climb in the first part, from Madalena until the straight stretch inland that connects to the Lagoa do Capitão, with an average slope of 7%. Then there is a descent where reaching high speeds is possible until it gets to São Roque. Then, the route follows a local road through various parishes until it gets back to Madalena.
