Next to Fonte Nova, we start the route, in a pleasant riverside leisure area, and it presents various themes. In this part there is a landscape which is strongly influenced by human activities and this is a characteristic that we observe along the route: mixed forest with pine and eucalyptus trees, hills, olive groves, vineyards and vegetable gardens. At some angles we can see the Peak of São Mamede. Further ahead is the freshness of the Ribeira de Arronches stream, in the shade of alders, willows, sanguinos and cherry trees. We will find traces of the old agricultural practices: threshing floors, apiary walls, weirs and water channels.
